N-SF11 Cylindrical Lens

N-SF11 is a high refractive index, high dispersion optical glass material commonly used in optical designs requiring high refractive index and special dispersion characteristics. High refractive index (nd≈1.7847@587.6nm). Low abbe number (Vd≈25.76), high dispersion materials. Transmission range: visible to near-infrared wavelength (350 nm to 2500 nm).

What are the applications of cylindrical lenses?
1. Optical instruments: in optical instruments such as telescopes and microscopes, cylindrical lenses are used for correcting parallax, adjusting the optical path, increasing the angle of view, and clearly observing tiny objects.
2. Laser: in a laser, a cylindrical lens is mainly used for beam shape adjustment and focusing. It can focus the laser beam into a line or sector-shaped area, or change the direction of the beam.
3. Electronic optical measurement calibration: cylindrical lenses are used in electronic optical measurement calibration to accurately control the propagation and focusing of light, improving the accuracy and precision of measurements.
4. Fax and print layout systems: in these systems, cylindrical lenses are used for image scanning, transmission and processing to ensure image quality and clarity.
5. Lighting and display technology: cylindrical lenses can be used in areas such as linear detector illumination, bar code scanning, holographic illumination and optical information processing. They are able to convert a point light source into a line light source or change the height of the beam without changing the beam width.
6. Intense laser systems and synchrotron beamlines: cylindrical lenses play an important role in these high-power systems for beam shaping, focusing and orientation.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of N-SF11(H-ZF13) material?
Advantages:
High refractive index allows for a reduced radius of curvature of the element in optical design, thus reducing system size.
Ideal for applications requiring high dispersion correction.

Disadvantages:
More sensitive to temperature changes, higher coefficient of thermal expansion.
Less chemically stable, susceptible to acid and alkali corrosion.
